Water Tunnel
Water tunnel tests on a modified KC-135R for AEL Industries (now BAE Systems).

DARcorporation can design, analyze, test and build anything that moves through the air, including power generating windmill blades, flying cars and flying toys.

We can design to LSA, U.S. Experimental Category, U.S. FAR 23, FAR 25, U.S. MIL SPEC requirements.

Our projects include single and multi-engine propeller and jet powered aircraft; Business Jets, Very Light Jets (VLJ); Kit, LSA and Experimental Category aircraft; VTOL combat force insertion vehicles; VTOL aircraft; UAV's for civil and military applications and hybrid air/ground vehicles.

Whether you have a new design, or an existing airplane, DARcorporation will give you the attention needed to make your project and company a success story!

Model prepared for testing
Wind tunnel tests and project management for a small business jet for VisionAire Corporation.

Our technical team of highly skilled and qualified aeronautical engineers and production personnel are capable of testing and analyzing models in subsonic and transonic flow regimes. We can conduct flow visualization tests on existing models and provide qualitative assessments. We also analyze stability & control and drag data derived from wind tunnel tests.

We can test and verify the performance of anything that we design. Wind tunnel testing verifies our design predictions or reveals problems with designs that are brought to us. We can design and conduct full load testing of full size hardware. Flutter testing reveals problems that can literally shake an aircraft to pieces. Finally, we can design and conduct full flight testing to any aircraft standard.

We can build scale models, wind tunnel models, mockups and full sized flight and load test vehicles. We use experienced fabricators who are skilled producers of advanced tooling and high-performance structures using the most advanced materials and processes.

We have a professional association with several propeller and engine manufacturers, model makers and wind tunnel facilities and we are privy to accurate and up-to-date engine and propeller performance information.

We have an extensive network of partners which include experienced design and structural consultants, DER's and industry experts to take your vehicle from conceptual design to a detailed set of drawings and specifications suitable for prototype construction.

Our technical library consists of several thousand volumes including USAF, NASA and ESDU reports and we have access to the library and experimental facilities of The University of Kansas, Wichita State University and The University of Washington.

We have extensive experience with all types and sizes of wind tunnel and water tunnel testing programs. We will plan and manage all aspects of the testing, modeling and data analysis, giving you an accurate account of your project aerodynamic performance before production.

Wind Tunnel & Water Tunnel Testing: Our technical team of highly skilled aeronautical engineers have extensive experience with all types and sizes of wind tunnel and water tunnel testing programs. We will plan and manage all aspects of the testing, modeling and data analysis, giving you an accurate account of your project aerodynamic performance before production. We are capable of testing and analyzing models in subsonic and transonic flow regimes. We can conduct flow visualization tests on existing models and provide qualitative assessments. We will also analyze the stability & control and drag data derived from the wind tunnel tests.

Wind Energy: DARcorporation has vast experience designing and testing a variety of wind energy devices and windmills. We have worked on designs of various horizontal and vertical axis wind mills. These designs are rigorously tested and optimized using advanced simulation methods and verified in the wind tunnel, using our state of the art test stand tailored specifically for wind tunnel testing of windmill blades.

Consulting Projects and Statement of Work

Loads Testing
Complete loads analysis and control system design of a two-seat all composite ultralight/experimental airplane for DreamWings, LLC.

Make DARcorporation Part of Your Team

Our primary objective is to help you design and build safe and predictable airplanes. We have been doing this since 1991, so we know what questions to ask, how long tasks take and what is necessary to get the job done. We will not low-ball the engineering estimate and we will not make optimistic predictions that cannot be achieved with the actual hardware.

We begin every project with a careful review of objectives and existing data and then offer an assessment that includes project cost projection and time line. Whatever your goals are, we will do what is necessary to understand them and make them our own, or tell you upfront if something is just not possible, saving you time, frustration and money. We will be as committed to the success of your project as you are. DARcorporation will get the job done; cost effectively, and on time.

Rhapsody Twin
Computer aided drafting work on a twin-engine propeller all-composite experimental airplane for DreamWings. Design includes stability and control analysis for one airplane with three different engines.

Our engineers can use your conceptual sketches and specifications to produce a complete design. Or, if you need a review of an existing design, we will analyze your design and provide you a documented projection of performance and cost of your aircraft vehicle and perform a detailed comparative analysis of your competitor's product, including weaknesses and strengths.

Using Unigraphics NX, Team Center, AeroPack and Solid Edge and many other specialized aeronautical design and analysis tools, we can produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings and illustrations for business plans, parts production and assembly, quality control and investors. Our skilled aeronautical engineers will perform original design work and design reviews using the most powerful software and analytical tools available:

When we produce your prototype vehicle, engineers and project managers, who designed your state of the art vehicle will be directly involved in every step of its fabrication and assembly, thereby assuring that "what we designed is what you fly". Our staff will provide all the assistance you may require to move from the prototype to the full production phase with the confidence that comes from developing a production ready vehicle.

A successful flight test
First flight of a new LSA category composite airplane, the Nexaer LS-1, on October 16, 2006. DARcorporation was involved with design and development.

Our years of experience, coupled with a practice of doing "trial and error"€ of airplane designs on our computers, ensure that you will not discover major mistakes in flight testing or on the production floor. Our disciplined approach to designing, analyzing, testing and building airplanes will result in a successful outcome.

Upon review of many existing airplane designs, we have discovered serious problems with longitudinal and lateral stability of the airplane. Other airplanes had serious stall and spin recovery issues. All of these problems were due to insufficient analysis in the initial stages of the vehicle design. We have also observed structural design and manufacturing methods that did not meet the rigorous standards demanded by flying vehicles. The results were airplanes with serious weight and balance issues and structural defects.

All of these problems could have been prevented if adequate engineering had been performed before any material was cut on the shop floor and if the prototypes were built according to the standards that are expected of aeronautical vehicles.
