Ian Sheppard
Aerospace Engineer
Mr. Sheppard is an aerospace engineer. He is experienced with Dassault SolidWorks, Dassault CATIA/DELMIA, Siemens NX, LabVIEW, MATLAB,and PolyWorks. He has worked on programs such as Northrop Grumman Inlet Duct Robotic Drilling (IDRD), General Motors Laser Weld (GM-LW), United Launch Alliance Major Weld Metrology (ULA-MWM), and Lockheed Martin Fastener Fill (LMA-FF). His production and metrology experience has made him an expert in laser trackers, single-line laser scanners, industrial robot programming, and system integration.
During his undergrad, Mr. Sheppard worked as a machinist for The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets (CReSIS) through the University of Kansas. He was also a member of the KU “Spacehawks” design team, one of only three undergraduate teams to qualify nationally for the finals of the NIA/NASA RASC-AL 2016 design competition.
